Extensions with Mirrored Steel Façade

This home extension project was located in the conservation area of Hemingford Abbots and involved the side and rear extensions of an end of terrace Victorian Home. The Client wanted a more open plan layout with a larger kitchen, utility and dining areas. The design whilst being very in keeping on the side elevation was purposively very different on the rear façade. The idea was to have a mirrored steel façade which would pick up the colours of the flowers, bushes, trees and sky. The Client from their end of garden studio wanted to look back at the house and see an ever changing façade. The façade is interactive as its appearance alters with the changing weather, seasons and light which creates interest and drama.
